Neena
I’m a Londoner, born & bred, with global cultural influences from living in multicultural London, being part of a multi-cultural extended family and from being part of the Indian diaspora who initially lived in East Africa. I am fluent in Gujarati & can take you around my kitchen in Swahili.
I’m interested in Art, Ancient history & Travelling. I recently volunteered with the London School of Mosaic, where we fabricated a 57 metre long mosaic installed outside London Bridge Station and in making mosaic tiles which are sold at St. Paul’s Cathedral and based on designs inside the Cathedral. I enjoy arts and crafts and make my own greeting cards in my spare time.
I come from a Youth & Community Work background and moved into Mentoring in Schools once the initiative was introduced in 2000 and went on to do my Masters Degree in Education, specialising in Guidance & Counselling. I honed my skills doing further training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) & Bereavement and Loss.
I loved working in Schools as it allowed me the privilege to help students identify & overcome their barriers to learning and to watch their progress and development into confident & successful young adults.
